With today's modern technology, anyone can go out and purchase a camera, even if it's just a "throw-away", and take your picture. So, why pay someone to photograph you?
Because, when your friend goes out and purchases a throw-away camera to take pictures of you, those pictures often turn out looking like "throw-aways".
We have encountered many people who are proud of their disposal camera pictures and brag that the pictures were taken with a throw-away... as if no one could see that by looking at them.
Digital cameras do not guarantee professional quality photos either. Things to be considered in professional photography are lighting, composition, depth of field, etc., which people often ignore when using digital cameras -- believing that "digital quality" equals "professional quality".
We do not intend to be cruel nor critical with these statements... just honest.
In fact, we, sometimes, also use digital cameras in addition to our standard SLRs, depending on the assignment, to take pictures. However, there are "picture takers" and there are photographers. Photographers produce better photographs than "picture takesrs" and, some photographers are actually better than others.
You must decide what you want and how good you want it... then do what it takes to get it.

Time in exchange for Prints
Often referred to as Time for Prints or TFP, this arrangement allows the client to receive their product without paying money for them. Instead, the client allows the photographer to use the images or a certain number of the images to further promote the photographer's services or generate business outside of the photographer attempting to earn direct revenue from the images.
